MHIS 2010: Speakers and delegates
Words and photos: Salina Christmas
8 October 2010
Apart from top-down descriptions of mobile phone-based technologies, the summit also featured presentations that focused on the sociality around mobile health systems and devices. There were talks on 'insertion points' and common denominators, but they all boiled down to the notion of mobile phones being the extension of the self, and how people, in healthcare settings, interact with these 'm-health' objects. And while talks went on at the front of the hall, the audience at the back engaged with the extension of themselves, namely their mobile phones, Flip cameras, laptops and tablets.
