MHIS 2010: Harley Street World discusses health and sports

At the end of Day One of the Mobile Healthcare Industry Summit 2010, Harley Street World hosted the event "Health and Sports = An Olympics Legacy with Olympic Decathlete Daley Thompson". Harley Street World CEO Tam McDonald reviewed the implication of internet television and wireless communications in extending the clinical reach of doctors. UK decathlete Daley Thompson was joined by several clinicians in discussing the roles of sport and fitness in optimising quality of life. In May 2010, McDonald spoke at a workshop organised by the Harley Street Alliance on the possibility of the Olympics 2012 being used as a platform to build a sports hospital.Kevin Gavaghan, the inventor of telephone banking, was enlisted that night to help the participants with their ideas (How to build a sports hospital for the London Olympics 2012, Clinica.co.uk, 25 May 2010).
